Veterans (Military) Benefits

Just as you are proud to serve our country, we are proud to serve you!  We participate with VA programs!  The University of Aesthetics & Cosmetology is approved for eligible veterans, eligible dependents, eligible spouses, and eligible active military. 

If you think you might be eligible, verify with your VA counselor your qualifications for benefits and contact a member of our Education Team.

Veterans eligible to receive benefits cannot be extended beyond the total scheduled hours for the program. 

 

Enrolling With VA Education Benefits

  1. If you are eligible for VA Education Benefits, you will need to complete & submit an application (VA form 22-1990).  You can begin the application process online Apply for VA Benefits 22-1990 Online
  2. After submitting, the VA will send you a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) if you are eligible.  The COE will specify your eligible program, benefit rate, & length of eligibility.  You will need to submit this to the admissions office at the University of Aesthetics & Cosmetology.
  3. Once you are enrolled at the University of Aesthetics & Cosmetology, a VA Certification Application must be completed & turned in for certification.

VA administers a variety of benefits and services that provide financial and other forms of assistance to service members, veterans, their dependents and survivors.

If you served on active duty, you might be eligible for education benefits offered by the Department of Veterans Affairs. For example, the Post-9/11 GI Bill® provides Financial support for educational and housing expenses to individuals with at least 90 days of aggregate service after September 10, 2001, or individuals discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days. You must have received an honorable discharge to be eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill®.

If you are the spouse or child of a service member, you may be eligible for transfer of the service member’s Post-9/11 GI Bill® benefits to you.

If you are currently serving in the military, you may be eligible for funding offered through the Department of Defense Tuition Assistance program. Check your eligibility status and the amount for which you qualify with your Service prior to enrolling.

If you are the spouse or child of a service member who is serving on active duty Title 10 orders in the pay-grades of E1-E5, O1-O2, or W1-W2, you may be eligible for financial assistance from the Department of Defense for education, training, and/or the occupational license and credentials necessary for a portable career.

Compliance with 38 USC 3679(e) VA Pending Payment Compliance

Beginning August 1, 2019, and despite any policy to the contrary, the educational institution named at the bottom of this form will not take any of the four following actions toward any student using U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Post 9/11 G.I. Bill® (Ch. 33) or Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (Ch. 31) benefits, while their payment from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs is pending to the educational institution:

  • Prevent their enrollment;
  • Assess a late penalty fee to;
  • Require they secure alternative or additional funding;
  • Deny their access to any resources (access to classes, libraries, or other institutional facilities) available to other students who have satisfied their tuition and fee bills to the institution.

However, to qualify for this provision, such students may be required to:

  • Produce the VA’s Certificate of Eligibility by the first day of class;
  • Provide written request to be certified;
  • Provide additional information needed to properly certify the enrollment as described in other institutional policies (see our VA School Certifying Official for all requirements).
